Vintage Louis Vuitton Monogram Crossbody Bag – Custom Gold Chain A beautiful vintage Louis Vuitton Monogram bag, sympathetically adapted with new strap hardware and a removable gold-tone chain strap, transforming the original design into a very wearable contemporary crossbody. The bag is in very good vintage condition overall and has retained an excellent shape and structure. The Monogram canvas is particularly nice — bright, rich and well defined, with the classic LV pattern presenting beautifully on both sides. The vachetta leather trim is in excellent vintage condition, with a lovely warm, even aged patina. There are the natural signs of age you would expect from a genuine vintage piece, but overall the leather presents exceptionally well. New strap attachment hardware has been added to allow the bag to be worn crossbody. It comes with the gold-tone chain shown in the photographs, which is non-Louis Vuitton and removable, so it can easily be swapped for a different chain or strap to change the look. The interior is in very good, clean condition. There is some slight rubbing/wear to the material within the inner and outer pockets, but this is stable and both pockets remain completely usable. There was a small area of early fraying to the fabric/ribbing alongside the zip, which has been carefully reinforced to prevent further deterioration. This is shown in the photographs. The zip remains fully functional. The original Louis Vuitton branding and date code are present inside. The original zip and hardware show some age-related wear and patina, entirely in keeping with the vintage character of the piece. A gorgeous example with particularly attractive canvas and vachetta, given a modern update that makes it an easy everyday crossbody while retaining the charm and character of vintage Louis Vuitton.
