Vintage Louis Vuitton Monogram Crossbody Bag – Custom Chain Strap A gorgeous vintage Louis Vuitton Monogram bag, updated with a new gold-tone chain strap and D-ring attachments to give this classic piece a more contemporary crossbody look. The original bag itself is in excellent vintage condition overall, particularly the structure and canvas. The Monogram canvas remains beautifully bright and well defined, and the bag has retained a lovely, crisp shape. The vachetta leather is also in good condition for its age, with attractive patina and just a couple of light marks consistent with vintage use. The bag has been sympathetically adapted with new D-ring attachments and a removable gold-tone chain strap. The leather attachment tabs on either side have been carefully touched up and recoloured to return them closer to their original appearance. The chain is non-Louis Vuitton and can easily be removed or swapped for another strap, making the bag very versatile. The main interior is exceptionally clean and very well preserved. The internal pocket has been treated with a protective coating to help prevent deterioration of the vintage lining. There is some rubbing/loss to the lining inside the front pocket, although the pocket remains completely usable. The Louis Vuitton branding is present inside, although it has faded with age. The date code is also present in the upper rear corner of the interior, but due to its position it has proved impossible to capture clearly in photographs. The zip and original hardware show the expected signs of age and use. A really lovely vintage LV with a slightly different feel — the chain conversion makes it much easier to wear with modern outfits while retaining all the character of the original bag.
